 This is designed for students who are beginners in jazz. No prior jazz experience is required to use this book. The patterns begin simply and gradually increase in difficulty while all the time playing along with back-up tracks. The author, claims to have five primary objectives in this study.

  • 1. To eradicate any fears of improvisation.
  • 2. To minimize tedious theoretical reading.
  • 3. To teach form, haramonic awareness, theory, chords/scale/relationships, and simple useable jazz vocabulary.
